Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

This year was a wee bit chilly compared to other years and recent temps around 75 or 80 plummetted today. Still, it's nothing like some of the Kansas Halloweens that we had as kids.

This has been our wall decoration for the last several days. The kids named her Velma and she's some kind of devil woman.

Blake's stoic cowboy face...

Right before heading out to trick-or-treat...

Our next-door-neighbors happened to be donning the cowboy/devil thing as well so we snapped a pic of them w/our kids.

After gorging on buckets of candy, we finally ended the evening about 10 pounds heavier. Also, I don't think we saw any carved pumpkins our whole evening - not sure why nobody seems to do them here?

Must mention a congrats to another new baby coming into the family - seems like I say that a lot but babies are springing up everywhere lately! Many congrats and we can't wait to meet all of the new babies - we will live vicariously through you all as ours are growing up so quickly!

Pumpkin carving!

We spent this afternoon carving our Halloween pumpkins. Oddly, we were one of the only ones on our block who carved last year but I'm hoping more people will this year so we can see everybody's. Some pics from the day....

Transferring the pattern to the pumpkins...

Then carving out the designs...

Final result!

Blake's scaredy face....

Payton's spider...

Mine is a boy looking into a mirror and seeing a skeleton...very difficult to do and I'm not sure you can tell what it is but it's close.

Andy didn't have a specific design that he carved but he worked on all 3 to help us all out.

Two more days until Halloween - yea!
