Our first finished room is the dining room - a room we never really had in our previous house.


We have the same table as before but new chairs. Our previous chairs were also parsons chairs but they were fabric and had covers on them. These parsons chairs are a chocolate brown leather and much easier to keep clean. The server along the wall is black and a new item that I bought out of necessity since we lost so much kitchen and counter storage in this house. The painting on the wall was purchased at a locally owned home furnishings store and was painted by Constance Bachmann who likes to take traditional items (in this case, a still life) and introduce modern architectural elements which I love. The windows now have floor length red panels on them where they previously just had valances. We wanted more privacy and the room also needed some fabric to reduce echoes so the panels work better than a valance would for us.

So nice to have 1 room considered done but we have many to go. We are close to having a few other rooms completed so I'll post pics of those as we go.
