Getting caught up!

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks so it's time to get caught up! I think I just got into kind of a lazy funk but it's amazing what the time change can do. More light = happier Shannon. So here we go....

JT in concert - FANTASTIC!

Marcy and I just got back from the Justin Timberlake concert and we both will be lucky to have voices tomorrow. It was the best concert I've seen other than Michael Jackson in his hey-day. The stage took up most of the floor and the concert was "in the round". The only people who were on the floor were ones who were standing. Marcy and I were three rows back in the tiered seating and couldn't believe how good the seats were. So much fun, so much good music, such a good mix of people in the crowd, just FANTASTIC.

Pink opened for JT and she was also great. Marcy and I both own all of her albums and love her - she put on a good show.

One thing that was a little bit obvious was that we were quite a bit older than the average person there. No lines to get beer for us! :)

Blake Lewis

I vowed to not watch American Idol this season but here we are watching it as we have every other year. It's such a big time investment but just about everybody I know watches it so it's fun to discuss w/other people. If we weren't watching, we wouldn't know about Blake Lewis who I completely love - he has a little Justin Timberlake, a little Jason Mraz and a lot of his own personality. Here's a clip of a performance he had last fall before Idol....

Afternoon at The Botanic Gardens

On Wednesday, Blake and I weren't having a great day together and it was beautiful outside (70s all week) so we headed to the Botanic Gardens for a picnic lunch. Being outside, observing the fountains and taking pics turned Blake's mood around and we had a great time. Some pics I took....

Some pics Blake took below... A kid walked by trying to figure out what Blake was taking pictures of. Blake had to take a picture of every different plant/shrub/tree species represented and most of them don't look like much right now since they have no leaves or blooms.

Day at the mall with the girls

On Sunday, I took Payton and a friend to the mall for some shopping and to see Bridge to Terabithia (good movie). The girls were so excited and giddy about being at the mall (a gene that I'm missing) and Payton ended up buying 18 pair of earrings I think (!) and this dress which she loves....
