Scavenger Hunt

On Saturday, I set up a scavenger hunt for the kids at a big park/recreation area so there would be plenty of spots to hide things. The way it worked was this: each of them was given a clue to start with (Blake's clues were in the form of maps) and then when they got to that place from the clue, they'd find a gift and another clue for their next spot. There were 4 clues in all. Blake went first....

Then Payton....

Hiding places included a mini-golf course, trees, the bathroom, bushes and inside a building with a staff member. They had a lot of fun and the best part was seeing Payton's reaction on her final prize - she finally got the cell phone she's been begging for! :-)

Finding a cure for diabetes

Payton has all the sweetness and thoughtfulness that I never did. She has a new friend with diabetes and her first reaction was "I have to find a way to help cure this." She wrote down 14 ways of raising money and one of them was to start an online campaign. Her goal is $500 and this is her site if you could help by donating. Thank you!

We have a really awesome, beautiful botanic garden in Fort Worth. We had a picnic dinner there tonight in the rose garden section and it was a great time. Some pics....

Garage!

My first household job I wanted to tackle since my job ended was the garage. It was a mess....total, complete mess. I got 8 stacker storage units before I left so that helped to get things organized. After 3 trips to the dump, 2 trip to Goodwill and 6 hours in 105 degree temps, it's finally done!

First time to have both cars in the garage....

Gigasecond Birthday

Today is my Gigasecond Birthday and for those of you who are not as nerdy as Andy and me, that means I'm a billion seconds old. The day started with flowers, a card (which said "here's $100 to spend how you want" but really there was $4 in the card....100 in binary = 4 in decimal), donuts and a flash drive. Very nerdy and very fun. :-)
