Bowling
Labels: holidays, Payton 1 commentsFriday night, me, Payton, Marcy and Aubry went bowling as part of birthday festivities for Payton. Aubry and Payton have been friends for years but Aubry is two years younger and doesn't know Payton's other friends because they are 6th graders so we celebrated separately w/her. Besides, Marcy and I are friends so it makes it fun for the four of us!
So we set out for bowling and we get the last lane. Unfortunately, they start the 1 hour timer right away even though it takes 10 minutes to change shoes, walk to the lane, pick out a ball, program the names, etc. We finally get started and we are starving. Pushing the button to order food isn't working so I go track someone down. She takes our order and brings our drinks right away.
Beer in a bowling pin shaped bottle tastes so much better for some reason (and helped Marcy and I kind of forget how starved we were!)....
Unfortunately, the bowling pin beers didn't help our game...
Black lights came on and the girls screamed "Yeaaaa!!!!!"
and Aubry was inspired to dance...
Second game was better...
But with only 5 minutes left on the clock, I was inspired to bowl backwards...
Marcy and Aubry followed suit...
When we were finished bowling, I gave each of the girls game cards to use in the arcade while Marcy and I sat at the bar chatting. Girls in a game of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR if you're cool)...
Then came the parade of freaks (not too obvious in this pic but they were all dressed in costume)...
Then the freakiest freak of them all...a guy named Jimmy who kept telling Marcy and I that we were the hottest women in the bar. Marcy is an attractive woman and all but we're moms in our 30s, out w/our daughters...surely there are 21 year old hotties somewhere else that he could find? Not according to him...he was funny to chat with until he'd had a few too many drinks and too a flying leap over the line of polite conversation. Bye, bye Jimmy...thanks for the ego boost!

Great pics and write up Shannon! I am going to borrow them for my blog if you don't mind (the pics, not the write up!) Poor Poor misunderstood Jimmy...he was so clueless about his "crossing the line" comment. But you can still be a hot mom in her 30's. Jimmy thinks so anyway! I feel oogy all of a sudden just remembering him and his face....blech!
