Financial update

- Surviving October using a budget for the first time. Food spending is the hardest to manage.
- Put our hot tub up for sale. Might as well get some extra money from it since we don't use it.
- Using thegrocerygame.com for groceries. First week was $77 on groceries. Down from...a whole lot more.
- Have started to Christmas shop to try to find good deals as they come up. Placed an order on Amazon.com tonight to take advantage of some good sales.
- Cooking at home more now.
- Gathering cleaning supplies to start doing my own cleaning.

Overall, going very well and we're very motivated to get through this step ASAP.

What next?

The cleaning part is going to suck!!! Often when cleaning, I wonder why I thought buying a bigger house was a good idea!!!

Year round Christmas shopping has many advantages.

    1. spreads out spending and gives you extra money at Christmas to do Christmas activities
    2. provides you the ability to shop for and find meaningful gifts perfect for the recipient (and most often on sale), rather than rushing out to get something just to get it
    3. less stress during the month of December when everyone is scrambling to get it done

I start each January at after-season sales and continue on throughout the year. Pretty much done with it all. Feels good and I love everything I got.
