The weekend

Friday
Happy Hour at Baker's St. Pub and Grill and dinner at Hedary's Lebanese Restaurant. Laughed so much my cheeks hurt. :-)

The cute couple at Happy Hour (Joelle and Michael)....not really a couple but everybody seemed to think so. :)

Saturday
Soccer pictures for Blake in the morning. We should have them to post within a few weeks. Blake refused to take his picture last year so we were glad he did a good job this year.

Coralling the wild monkeys while we wait forever for pics

Lunch at Keller's Drive-in in Dallas. We drove all the way there for a hamburger because they made the GQ list of "The 20 Hamburgers You Must Eat Before You Die" and we think it was well-deserved. The place looks kind of run-down but there is something about the burgers that is just so good. We're already craving them and will probably have to go back soon.

Saturday night we went to the movies - girls went to see Akeelah and the Bee and boys went to see The Wild. We all liked the movies we saw and I loved the message in Akeelah and The Bee for young girls.

Other news:
-Kami ran the Oklahoma City marathon today but due to a foot injury was able to run the half instead of the whole. She's trained hard and did well and plans to try again to run a whole marathon. Congrats Kam. :-)
-Casey was scheduled to have the baby last week and I hadn't heard from her yet but was able to find the birth info online. Baby Jack was apparently born on Thursday morning and looks just like the rest of her side of the family. Congrats to Casey and family. :-)

What next?

hey! i'm famous! i was mentioned in nan's blog! ;-) thanks for all your encouragement. the only way a person can run that far is from the support of great family, great friends (like you!) and God... and belive me, i only did the 1/2, but at mile 11 (which was uphill btw & we were running fast to make up time) He was there! so, nan, i'll look for you on the sidelines in wichita this fall! and, maybe our disney trip 2008 will turn into me doing the marathon there! ;-) love ya!
