Kam and Reaghan came to town
Labels: friends, holidays 2 commentsOn Saturday, Kami and Reaghan came to our house to spend the day and night with us so the kids could exchange gifts and we could spend a little time together.
They arrived on Saturday afternoon and we headed to Red Robin for dinner (though we tried to go to Genghis Grill first which says it's open on the website but we didn't see it. Dan, what's up with that?) then to Barnes and Noble to let Payton get a book. We headed back home to open gifts.
Reaghan was very happy to get her ice skating clothes.
Blake got a Clapper and then proceeded to clap maniacally the rest of the evening as he watched things turn on and off from the sound of his claps.
Payton got two CDs - the soundtrack from Twilight (a movie/book that Payton and Kami share a love of) and this Ludo CD signed by all members of the band.
We then all headed out to meet the trolley for a tour of Christmas lights in Wichita. We were lucky in that the temps were mild for December and it was pretty comfortable being on the trolley without freezing. We were taken to a few parts of town for various lights - an area where you drive through a tunnel of lights, houses decked completely out and (our personal favorite) lights synchronized to music. We've got to figure out how they do that.
Reaghan was totally exhausted though and didn't make it to the end of the tour.
Of course after we got back home that sleepy girl and my almost-asleep son were bouncing on the couch and running around. They seem to find energy just when we think they've run out.
Woke up Sunday and had breakfast, played a bit and then they left in the freezing temps. It was 26 degrees in Wichita when they left and 68 in Oklahoma City. By the time they got home, the temps had dropped 20 or 30 degrees. BRRRrrrrr.
It was so nice to have Kam and Reaghan here because it had a been a while since they visited. The kids all got along well and we had a lot of fun!
